Smart handling of empty cans

The line starts with the delivery of empty cans on pallets. A robot with a vacuum tool processes four cans at a time, regardless of the type. In this line, there are five different types in total. This approach saves the customer a lot of time and reduces the physical strain on operators.

The cans are transported to the next stations via a network of conveyor belts. The line is designed to be flexible so that different sizes and types can be processed without the need for conversion.

Labelling, sleeving and filling – with extreme precision

The cans are first labelled or fitted with a sleeve, fully integrated into the line. Next, gravimetric filling by weight takes place, with high accuracy via 45 filling nozzles. The installation processes no fewer than 32 different liquids, each with their own properties and requirements.

A fully automatic capper then seals the cans with a controlled tightening torque of up to 35 Nm, which prevents leakage.

In total, two lines process around 700 cans per hour (350 per line).

Full cans? Fully automatically to the palletising cell

After filling, the cans are automatically transported to the palletising cell. Here too, everything revolves around precision and continuity:

• A pallet destacker ensures that empty pallets are always available.
• A robot with a handling tool places two cans on the pallet at a time, according to the corresponding stacking pattern.
• The installation recognises different pallet types and automatically switches between patterns.

Sealing with certainty: pallet wrapping

Finally, the stacked pallets are automatically processed by a pallet wrapper, which securely wraps the cans in film with a pre-stretch of 300%. This guarantees stability during transport and storage.
